Cash Bar

There isn’t really much to say about this part. There are a few options; you can either have a cash bar where guests pay for all their drinks themselves; or if you would like to treat guests you can set up a tab that has a limit, so when the maximum has been reached the bar then becomes a cash bar. Or you can have a limitless tab. However, bear in mind that when some people see that they can have free drinks all day it can be like a moth to a flame and they go a little over the top. I am not suggesting that people will intentionally take the mick, but some don’t always know their limit. I would also suggest that you take some drinks off the list, such as doubles, shots and expensive mixers like Red Bull. If guests are desperate to have one of those then they should be allowed to pay for them themselves. A wedding is for celebrating, not to get legless.

What to do if the venue you have chosen doesn’t have a bar but does have an alcohol license:

Hire a pop up bar and bar tender;

Ask guests to bring their own drinks;

Take a booze cruise and stock up on cheap drinks and have a help yourself drinks table.
